Native to Southeast Asia, this species is valued for keeping aquariums clean by consuming algae from glass, plants, and decorations. Growing up to 10–12 inches in length, Golden Algae Eaters are active swimmers that require spacious tanks and careful selection of tankmates. With proper care, they can live for 8–10 years, making them a long-term addition to any aquarium.
