Anubias Nana Pangolino in UAE | AquascapePlants
Transform your aquarium into a detailed masterpiece with Anubias Nana ‘Pangolino’, exclusively cultivated and curated by AquascapePlants UAE. Known as one of the rarest and smallest cultivars of the Anubias family, this ultra-miniature aquatic plant features narrow, overlapping, scale-like leaves that mimic the shell of a pangolin.
Whether you are designing a high-detail nano aquascape, a precision contest layout, or a low-maintenance shrimp tank, Anubias Nana Pangolino offers unmatched texture and micro-scale aesthetics. Grown for maximum hardiness and pest-free quality, it thrives seamlessly in typical UAE aquarium conditions.
✨ Key Features & Benefits
Ultra-Compact Micro Leaves: Features tiny, lanceolate dark-green leaves that bring incredible sense of scale and detail to foregrounds and hardscape crevices.
Beginner-Friendly & Hardy: Highly resilient plant that survives across a wide range of water parameters without complex setups.
No High Lighting or CO₂ Needed: Thrives in low-to-medium light conditions and does not require CO₂ injection, making it ideal for low-tech tanks.
Shrimp & Herbivore Safe: Tough, leathery leaves protect it against grazing fish, snails, and dwarf shrimp.
Pre-Conditioned for UAE Aquariums: Grown under expert care at AquascapePlants for rapid acclimation in local tap or RO water setups.
🌿 How to Plant & Position
Keep the Rhizome Exposed: Never bury the main stem (rhizome) in aquasoil or sand, as this can cause root rot.
Attach to Hardscape: Use cyanoacrylate superglue gel, thread, or plant weights to secure the plant onto lava rocks, driftwood, or aquarium ornaments.
Lighting Placement: Place in shaded areas or lower light spots to keep the slow-growing leaves clean and free of green spot algae.

Originally discovered in the fast-flowing waters of the Rio Cristalino in Brazil, Staurogyne repens (commonly known as S. repens) has quickly become one of the most sought-after and beloved foreground plants in modern aquascaping.
With its bright, compact, and spade-shaped light-green leaves, S. repens is a highly versatile stem plant. Under moderate to high lighting, it hugs the substrate to form a low, dense, and naturally creeping carpet. It is also incredibly effective at filling gaps, nestling into hardscape crevices, or softening the transition between stones and driftwood in classic Iwagumi layouts.
Whether you are a beginner looking for a forgiving carpeting species or an advanced scaper shaping a detailed midground bush, this premium portion from Aquascapeplants delivers outstanding quality and healthy, robust roots.
Why Choose Aquascapeplants Staurogyne repens?
- Lush Bushy Growth: Easily trimmed and sculpted to form dense, low-growing cushions or a seamless carpet.
- Exceptional Hardiness: Extremely adaptable to a wide range of water parameters, making it highly forgiving compared to other demanding carpet plants.
- Natural Filtration: Effectively absorbs excess nitrates and nutrients from your water column, actively combating algae and keeping your tank crystal clear.
- Versatile Placement: Ideal as a foreground carpet, a midground transition plant, or tucked into crevices between rocks and driftwood.
- Safe & Pest-Free: Sourced and cultivated under optimal conditions to ensure you receive clean, pathogen-free, and healthy plants.
Planting & Care Guide
For the best results in your aquascape, follow these recommended parameters:
- Placement: Foreground or Midground.
- Lighting: Moderate to High. Note: Higher light promotes lower, lateral, and creeping growth, whereas low light will make the stems grow more vertically.
- CO2 Requirement: Recommended but not strictly required. CO2 injection greatly improves growth density, leaf size, and overall health.
- Substrate: Thrives best in nutrient-rich aquasoil or a fine, nutrient-rich substrate where its delicate roots can securely anchor.
- Water Temperature: 20°C to 30°C.
- pH Range: 5.0 to 7.5.
- Trimming: Easily propagated by cutting the top shoots and replanting them directly into the substrate. Frequent trimming keeps the bush low, compact, and refreshed.
