Overview: This aquarium plant originates from Florida in North America and is an undemanding aquatic plant known for it’s versatile aqua scaping abilities. When planted individually, they form a great foreground aquatic plant, and when planted in groups after repeated pruning, are excellent options for carpet, midground and foreground plant in aquariums. It thrives in wet depressions and standing water and it’s shoots are adaptable to grow in both hard and soft water.
Hard/soft plant: Hard plant.
Appearance: This beautiful plant has arched small leaves that resemble a miniature version of Egeria leaves. The stems grow about 10 to 20 cm in height and 2 to 3 cm wide.
Ideal water temperature: It grows well in temperatures between 20 and 28 degree Celsius.
Lighting conditions: Although modest lighting conditions are preferred by Hemianthus micranthemoides, this plant is flexible to grow in both high and low lighting conditions. While the lower lighting levels facilitate loose upward growth, Hemianthus micranthemoides displays a stunted and compact growth.
Ideal pH conditions: Hemianthus micranthemoides thrives under pH levels 6 and 7 nk.
