BRILLIANT RUMMY NOSE TETRA

The rummy nose tetra (Hemigrammus rhodostomus) is a species of tropical freshwater characin fish originating in South America, famous amongst fishkeepers as an aquarium fish. One of many small tetras belonging to the identical genus, it’s far on average 5 cm (2 in) long when completely grown, and is a long mounted favored amongst tropical fishkeepers. The fish is one of several very comparable species inclusive of Hemigrammus bleheri, and Petitella georgiae, and it’s far feasible that extra recently collected specimens to be had within the aquarium trade are members of one or other of these similar species. The commonplace call carried out to most of those fishes is “rummy-nose tetra”, although other not unusual names are in circulation.
